Hi Opel freinds,

what want you to see as a new Opel model in 1:43 ?
My top 5

1. Opel Kadett D Caravan

Hello,
my top 5 are:

Rekord D
Commodore B
Commodore C
Senator A
Ascona B

Any body versions - but the Commodore C CarAVan is a very specially wanted one!

In general I think I know the final result by now: Most will wish models from the 60's up to let's say 1985/86. Why? Cause it is proofed that most modelists tend to collect those cars they know from their childhood days, they grew up with or which they rode than they wore a younger man's clothes!

But if we consider the whole thing - Opel is producing cars for more than onehundred years - we'll find out that there are plenty of models from the second half of this period. Early post war production from 1950/51 on up to the brand new ones of 2002 can be documentated very well. Of course, still there are some missing links!
There's also quite a good range of types from the (later) 30's too. But then the lights go out!

There are hardly any satisfying models from the first three decades from 1900 to 1930! Or does someone know better?

Where can I get a 8/40PS 1926? As it simply was the topselling middleclass car at it's time. Or the legendary 1913 Grand Prix racecar? Not to speak of any of these obsolete cars from 1906 or 1909... Or the splendid V8 24/120PS „Regent“ from 1928/29 which had to be bought back from the customers in order to be destroyed because there was no place for an Opel car which might be as good as or even better than the Cadillac?

So, friends, we really should be going for those ancient models! But who comes with me?

It will be really great when there will be some very old Opel cars, like the ones before 1930, but also after that time, like a good model of the Rekord D, now there is a old Polistil model.

There are a lot of models that i see in my dreams as a 1/43 car

Let's hope that, Minichamps, Schuco or Sunstar in there Vittese lineup, will do some work.

- gut, mit Blitz kenne ich mich auch nicht so aus.

Was ich meinte war Folgendes: Es gibt doch diesen Kanten-Blitz mit einer kurzen und später mit einer längeren Motorhaube - _den_ meinte ich damit.

Den "Kurzhauber" habe ich ja auch schon...

Ein Bild vom "Rundhauber" folgt bald und den "Langhauber" wünsche ich mir noch.

Ist ein schönes Modell geworden!

Das ist der „Alligator“-Hauber (!) 1,75t (ab 1955 2,0t) von 1953 - 1960! Mithin der direkte Vorläufer des Kanten-Blitz.
Mit dem Begriff „Langhauber" kann ich auch nichts anfangen, Alex.

Moin C-H,

"Langhauber": Was ich meine, ist auch ein "Kantenblitz" - allerdings mit einer längeren Motorhaube, als es meiner hat. Der Knick nach unten beginnt nicht direkt an der Windschutzscheibe, sondern erst ein Stückchen weiter vorne.

Ich meine, wir haben da auch schon irgendwo ein Bild im Forum von einem Original (nur wo?)

Richtig! Claus Samtleben aus Priesdorf. Das Museum bestand bis 1994. Die Modelle gelangten zum Teil in die Sammlung von Opel. Und dort zum Teil weiter in den Bauschuttcontainer! Unglaublich, aber wahr! Klaus Steinheimer - ein alter Opelaner - konnte einige retten und restaurieren.

Die Opel-Sammlung ist heute verstreut auf mehrere Betriebsstandorte.

Meine Wunschmodelle:

Rekord D in allen Variationen
Ascona A (auch als Caravan bzw. Voyager) Limo soll ja heuer noch als Diecast kommen
Kadett E Gsi Allrad
Monza
Campo
Monterey

und das alles in 1:43, guter Qualität und nicht zuletzt zu einem vernünftigen Preis.

Für den Campo kannst Du auf das Modell vom Vauxhall Brava ausweichen.
Und der Moterey ist ja eigentlich ein Isuzu Trooper. Frag' doch 'mal bei Claus Samtleben (richtig, der schon wieder) nach, ob er noch einen hat...
