Hello,

Unfortunately, I have no information on the subject matter.
But I have a related question: are there any visual differences to distinguish the Opel 2.0-litre (»6«) from the Opel Super 6 (2,5l) at all? I tried to find an answer and realized that I cannot confidently answer either positively or negatively. Are there any signs, except the grill badges? Of course, I mean the body in which both models were available — four-door sedan (Limousine) and conversions based on it.
By the way, regarding the grill badges - I've seen some rectangular badge and a round one with number 2.5 on it, but not sure if they are authentic. Would someone kindly shed some light on that too?
Upd: I've found old photos with 6 and 2.5 badges, so they are authentic. The question rather is why they are absent on some other old photos?

Best wishes, George

Alex, thank you for moving this topic into the separate thread. I was not sure if it's worth it.

Opel 6 (or Opel 2 Liter) built from 1/34 to 6/37

wheelbase: 2642mm and 3050mm (6 seats)

(LWH) 4390/1565/1600mm or 4800/1565/1600 (6-seats)

2-door
4-door
cabriolet with 2 windows
cabriolimousine
cabriolet with 4 windows
chassis
6-seater 10.36
pullman 6-seater
cabriolimousine 6-seater
landaulet 6-seater
taxi 6-seater

Opel Super 6 built from 11/36 to 10/38
only left:
2-door
4-door
cabriolet
cabriolet 2+2 (only made on the chassis by coachbuilders like Gläser, Hebmüller and other)

(LWH) 4370/1565/1600mm

Also keep in mind the smaller Opel 1,3 Liter (built from 1/34 to 9/35)

wheelbase 2474mm
(LWH) 4225/1475/1595

The Opel 6 has a small row of horizontical air-inlets on the sides of the hood from 1/34 to 12/34. In 1/35 the vertical airinlets came. You can find different wheel-hubs over the years. Also other wheels, different spare tyre and so on.
The Super 6 has a wider row of horizontical air-inlets on the hoodsides and the different radiator-grille.

All old pictures of the 1,3l have that quare badge 1,3 mouted on the grille, but only very few old pictures of the Opel 6 show a square Opel6-badge mounted. And I do not know any old picture with a badged grille. (THat round Opel6-badge....)

(If You want or need pictures for further information, just let me know..)

I see. Thank you.
I meant only the 4-door sedans.
Regarding the old pictires with a round badge see the attachment.

Claus, to turn the discussion into a more practical direction: am I right thinking that OCE Opel Super 6 could be converted to the Opel 6 relatively easy? All we need is to replace the front grille, wheel hubs, and correct the air inlets?

Best wishes, George

OK, You have to change the grille anyhow. The late Opel 6 have the same rims with holes as the early Super 6, with the same bigger hubs. If You modify the horizontal air-inlets to a smaller row, You have to use rims without holes and with smaller hubs. Otherwise: If You make vertikal air-inlets, You can use the original wheels of the model.
